What Makes Us Unique

Ramapo tailors programs to each group. Programs are developed through thoughtful collaboration with your staff. We build each program to address your group's goals and interests and can add a creative twist to favorite activities so that your group has a new and exciting experience each time they participate in a Ramapo Retreat.

Ramapo staff are assigned to your group for the duration of your program. They greet you upon arrival, help your group transition from place to place, orient you before each experience, eat with you at meals and, unless you request time for your own programming, facilitate all activities. During scheduled rest periods and after Ramapo's programming has ended for the evening, staff members are on call and easily accessible.

Ramapo is an inclusive environment. Ramapo staff are experienced in working with diverse groups of youth and adults, including those with special needs. Programs are carefully crafted to provide opportunities everyone to participate and to meet the needs of individuals as well as the group at large.

Ramapo offers a beautiful campus with modern facilities and inviting, exceptionally well-kept grounds and activity areas. The 250-acre campus consists of indoor and outdoor high and low ropes courses, miles of trails for hiking and orienteering, a freshwater lake for row boating and canoeing, and several fields for group games and recreation activities.

Ramapo’s Environmental Education Experiences combine environmental activities with team-building initiatives to explore the role of positive relationships, communication and teamwork in solving environmental issues. All of our programs are hands-on, team building activities which teach skills and promote cooperation.
